In the month of September we focused our learning on recycling week, discussing various materials that we can recycle ♻️ for example plastic, cardboard and tins.
We had a recycle matching and sorting games, and crafted with junk modelling

We also had a week to learn about people that help us when we made our own fire engine, for the children to extend learning through sharing role play ideas with peers. We sec water spray bottles to extinguish the fire in the tuff tray this prompted good turn taking. At group times we discussed various professionals that help us for example doctors, dentist, teachers, fireman and police 👮‍♀️

Another focus this month was the Gruffalo we had woodland walks, investigating different habitats and creatures that live in the woods. We made gruffalo headbands with the features from the story. The children also enjoyed exploring the gruffalo crumble sensory tray.

For the final week of September we welcomed the season of autumn 🍂 with various autumnal activities. We created leaf rubbing crowns, autumn sun catchers and we explored the autumn play dough tray with pine cones and crunchy leaves.
