About Happy Hares Nursery

Our aim is to deliver high quality care by providing a happy, friendly, inspiring, structured and safe environment for all children.

Children’s needs are paramount and are at the heart of what we do; we aim to create a family ethos and pride ourselves on excellent relationships with families as we focus on individualised and personal care and learning. Our professional, passionate and caring staff provide a secure base for children to explore our wonderful environments.

We deliver the EYFS curriculum through following the children’s needs and interests and planning activities that are purposeful, effective, relate to the real world and support the children’s understanding.

We strive to promote school readiness through teaching children life skills and thus enabling them to become more confident and independent leaders of the future.

We implement ‘In the moment’ teaching which entails capitalising on children’s interests to extend and support at a developmentally appropriate level through their play and exploration in the setting. Practitioners also plan activities and experiences which cover a broad range of skills and knowledge, including celebrating a wide range of festivals and diversities, which enables children to be “life ready”.

Our practitioners have devised their very own aspirations for each of the co-horts (Under 2’s; 2’s and Pre-School aged children) in line with the new EYFS 2021. Our team are experts at ensuring that planning, teaching and assessments ensure that gaps to learning/development are quickly identified and and then specific interventions are put in place to address the need.

At Happy Hares we are very fortunate to have a wide-range of learning environments which include Little Hares (base for the babies), Big Hares, a Pre- school room, the Discovery Den  (base for two year olds), sensory room, Jungle Gym, a designated sleep room, a children’s kitchen as well as our amazing outdoor space. Our garden has a spacious shelter, a bike area, a secret wooded garden, potting shed and gardening area as well different climbing apparatus.

It is part of our ethos that we encourage children to choose which area they want to explore this includes free flow into our spacious garden.
