This month our activities focussed around the stories of the weeks. Firstly we looked at ‘peep inside the garden’. We explored the mud and wooden tray with bugs hiding in favourite spots, this enabled them to further knowledge of habitats and where insects live. We created our own ladybird crafts with the children finger painted on the dots, counting as we added them. We also had a trip to the village park, using good listening ears and keeping safe on the roadside. The children used a variety of gross motor movements to utilise all apparatus.

In the second week of June we celebrated fathers day with our story “just like my daddy”. The children have explored colours and used tools with a purpose to create their Father’s Day cards, listened and followed instructions whilst baking biscuit gifts.

Our  bloom sensory session themes throughout the month was superheroes, down in the garden and circus throughout we used pincer grip to pop bubbles, joined in the singing and action songs and dressing up with the props.

We made the most of the variant weather, throughout June with a muddy puddle jumping, developing our gross motor skills, as you can see all the children thoroughly enjoyed this. 💦☔️. When the weather has been amazing ☀️ we’ve had lots of fun with sand , water, bikes and football ⚽️

Another story from this month was ‘Goldilocks and the three bears’ . We explored porridge messy play incorporating three different sized bowls and spoons like in the story. We discussed differences in size and why we have different size chairs and beds 🐻

This week we have explored space activities linking to our story of the week “on the moon”. We’ve created our own paper plate planets combining various colours and using different textures painting tools. The children have baked their own planet biscuits with icing pens to design a variety of marks and patterns on their biscuit.
