There has been plenty of excitement across the nursery this month, with our children enjoying a wonderful mix of play, exploration and new experiences.

Our youngest children had a lovely time during Baby Bloom, where they explored sensory activities designed to encourage curiosity, movement and early communication. We were also delighted to welcome some very special feathered visitors, as the children enjoyed meeting and learning about ducks. They loved watching them waddle, listening to their quacks and talking about how we can care for animals kindly.

We’re incredibly proud of the little milestones happening every day, especially those children who are learning to walk. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they take those exciting first steps, cheered on by their friends and practitioners.

Adventure was in full swing as our older children became brave explorers on a mission to rescue dinosaurs! Working together, they searched, solved problems and used their imaginations to save the dinosaurs, developing teamwork, communication and plenty of creative thinking along the way.

The nursery was filled with delicious smells as the children got busy making biscuits. From measuring and mixing the ingredients to rolling, cutting and decorating, baking gave everyone the chance to develop fine motor skills while learning about simple maths and following instructions. Best of all, they enjoyed tasting their tasty creations afterwards!

To round off the month, the children combined creativity with early maths by making numbered traffic lights. As they painted, counted and matched numbers, they also talked about road safety and recognised the colours used on traffic lights, turning a fun craft activity into a fantastic learning opportunity.

Every month at Happy Hares is packed with opportunities to learn through play, and we can’t wait to see what adventures next month will bring!
