We have had a very busy may enjoying the beautiful sunshine and exploring.
On the first week of may we focussed on the story a squash and a squeeze. The children have enjoyed multiple activities including, animal printing mixing colours and experimenting with patterns.

The children have demonstrated role play from their own experiences including a trip to the hairdressers and using the doctor equipment to check temperatures along with lots hairbrushing and use of rollers. The pre schoolers have engaged well in various board games including match and bingo.

We have celebrated May Day with the traditional maypole dancing with ribbons the children were able practice their spacial awareness and gross motor skills whilst dancing. We have had some glorious weather and have took full advantage of this with water play, paddling pools, obstacle courses, hopscotch and outdoor stories and group

We have celebrated Elmer Week, we have had Elmer hide and seek game when the children used gross motor skills to move body on different levels to find the animals. The children explored colours and textures creating patchwork patterns with the salt and rice trays. We had great fun creating our own Elmer ears, using all our favourite colours to make patterns and marks. The children enjoyed junk modelling Elmer collage models, using tools with a purpose and a range of coloured media. We have had a fantastic time with various water play activities to cool down.

Tractor saves the day has been  our last story of the month. We have created patterns and marks with the tractor and vehicles drawers. Explored colours and textures with the butterfly printing making symmetrical designs. We’ve utilised our new mud kitchen in the garden, making mud pies, hot chocolate and using diggers to transport the mud between pots and jugs.
