We have had a wonderful month with lots of glorious sunshine. The children have had lots of opportunities to explore the outside areas in the beautiful weather.
Our topics this month have been the singing mermaid, Peppa goes on Holiday, The sea meets the shore and The gruffalo.
They have made their own beautiful mermaids cutting and sticking and practiced their singing alongside their friends.
We have had the wonderful Andrea from Bloom north Devon join us for exciting sessions including: Wimbledon, under the sea and France. The children had a chance to practice their tennis skills, dresing up, water play, . They all said hello to cooper and enjoyed popping all the bubbles
We have created under the sea octopus pictures using handprints, cotton buds and paint. The children also made starfish shortbreads to bake and decorate
During Gruffalo week we’ve had flowers and natural woodland objects to discover and explore. The children had a trip to the park and the woodland area, investigating the natural world around them. They found different bugs in various habitats, under logs and on leaves. We also made Gruffalo crumble with strawberries and blackberries before adding our crumble topping, baking in the oven and taking them home.
Our last story of the month has been “peppa goes on holiday”. we’ve coloured and drawn our own plane tickets, role played airports, discussed where we have been on holidays ourselves. We also had playdough ice cream factory with sprinkles.
We look forward to lots more fun over the summer
